  • Iwate

    Nanbu Bijin Sake Brewery

    Ninohe, Iwate Prefecture was called the province of Nanbu since ancient times, and was blessed with a splendid natural landscape and climate, as well as plentiful water. They named their sake "Nanbubijin" by expressing their sake's clean taste as a beautiful woman combined with the name of the place, Southern Domain.
  • Kyoto

    Masuda Tokubee Brewery

    They value seasonality and individuality, while bringing out the very best in handmade sake. With a 350-years of history of supporting sake culture, they still carry on the Tajima Toji guild traditions today. This brewery is the originator of nigorizake and koshu.
  • Hyogo

    Tanaka Shuzojo

    Founded in 1835. They are the only remaining brewery with the old-fashioned style of wooden architecture, and still using the natural climate and traditional tools, while focusing on creating sake that will delight and satisfy their customers.

  • Nanbu Bijin Sake Brewery

    It leaves a splendid impression, and as the temperature rises in your mouth, the rich sweetness of the rice will unfold. It can be enjoyed ice-cold to room temperature, so please find which temperature range suits you, and try it with a variety of dishes.
    Product name Nanbu Bijin Junmai Daiginjo Natsu-zake (Summer Sake)
    Details It has a glorious aroma typical of Nanbu Bijin, a sweet/astringent taste reminiscent of citrus fruits, and a well-balanced flavor that goes down the throat nicely. It is delicious when served at temperatures ranging from chilled to room temperature, so it can be enjoyed with a variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes.

    Product name Shirasagi no Shiro – KIDAI
    Details This sake has a soft mouthfeel and refreshing acidity, which can only be created using the Ishikake-style tenbin pressing.
    The sharpness one would expect with the citrus-like acidity and aroma of this sake is subdued by the tenbin pressing, giving it a surprising softness.
    For a refreshing taste, we recommend to have it in a Cold Sake glass. If you want balance with the aroma, we recommend to have it in a Riesling glass.

    Product name Nanbu Bijin Tokubetsu Junmai (Special Junmai) Autumn Sake
    Details It is brewed to be rich and aromatic, using "Gin-otome" shuzo-kotekimai (a rice suitable for making sake) produced in Ninohe City, Iwate Prefecture, where the brewery is located.
    It has a juicy flavor reminiscent of apples with nectar in winter, and the sweetness and richness of the rice gradually unfolds, so you can enjoy it with a variety of dishes.
    It can be enjoyed at a wide range of temperatures, from cold, to room temperature to warm.
