Product Information

A special form handcrafted by artisans

The form of the neckline prevents air from coming into contact with the product, which reduces oxidation and has the effect of condensing the fragrance, making it more mellow. In Japan, the fanning out shape of the bottle is thought to be a good omen, and represents the future opening up to you. Each bottle is handmade and filled with the artisans’ hope for happiness for all who obtain it.

Stainless steel material that is perfect for sake

Stainless steel made in the Tsubame-Sanjo area in Niigata Prefecture, a world-renowned metal processing town, is used for kitchen utensils like pots and cutlery, as well as for the thermal tanks used to brew sake. This makes it a good match for sake, and great for storing it.
Stainless steel has many benefits, like rust resistance, odor resistance, cleanliness, and resistance to damage. It is also recyclable and environmentally friendly.

Creator's comment

We paid close attention to the form of our items to create shapes for use outside of Japan. We also carefully selected materials similar to those used in the thermal tanks for brewing sake from among more than 200 other materials, then by applying a unique surface treatment to create a stainless steel tokkuri suitable for sake storage.

Instructions

-Each item is handmade by artisans, so the bottle surfaces will vary in terms of polish marks, luster, and other fine textures. Enjoy the unique expression of each bottle.
-Refrain from heating or boiling water with these products; these are not covered by the warranty.
-When washing, we recommend you use a neutral detergent and wash by hand with a soft sponge. Rinse well to prevent detergent from remaining inside. After washing, turn the bottle upside down and drain it well to keep it sanitary.
-After washing and drying, store in a place out of direct sunlight.

Product Information

The harmony of sake and stainless steel created by artisans

This stainless steel Ochoko was made by craftsmen in the Tsubame-Sanjo area of Niigata Prefecture, a world renowned metal processing area. Niigata Prefecture is also known for its sake production, with the largest number of sake breweries of any prefecture in Japan. Because the artisans have a good understanding of metals and sake, they were able to create a Ochoko goes perfectly with sake.
Stainless steel matches the flavor of sake, and using a unique surface finish to give it a soft look. The resulting Ochoko enhances both the beauty and flavor of sake.

A Ochoko to help you savor sake

The double-layered stainless steel form keeps sake at the perfect temperature. It allows you to enjoy sake in a wide range of temperatures, hot or cold, when the mood strikes you. It is not easily affected by external temperatures, allowing you to enjoy optimal aroma, texture, flavor, and aftertaste. Enhancing the enjoyment of sake is this Ochoko raison d’etre.

This is a double-walled cup. "The double-walled design was created help people who couldn’t hold their Ochokos after pouring hot sake. The double-walled design allows you to enjoy hot or cold sake regardless of the external temperature.

This sake is a limited winter edition, as winter is the season when sake is at its best.

Sake Brand

Yamagata, Dewazakura Sake Brewery, Special Junmai-shu Shiboritate Genshu

This is a special edition of freshly brewed sake that is only available during the winter. It has a soft rice flavor that is neither too rich nor too thin, and is a perfect match for a variety of dishes. It is made using Dewanosato, a sake rice developed by Yamagata Prefecture for Junmai-shu.

Kyoto, MASUDA TOKUBEE SHOTEN, Junmai Daiginjo Namazake(Un-pasteurized sake)

Kyoto-grown Iwai rice is grown by our contracted local farmers. This is a gem of a brew that retains the soft flavors within the firm structure of the rice, giving it a refined taste.

In Niigata, Yoshinogawa produces its own rice, Gohyakumangoku

Shiboritate Junmai Ginjo Genshu. This Junmai Ginjo sake is made by Yoshinogawa through a consistent process from rice cultivation to sake brewing. All of the "Gohyakumangoku" rice grown with great care in the rice fields of the Nagaoka area is used, and the junmai ginjo sake is brewed with great care in the cold climate, making full use of the characteristics of the rice. This is a bottle that embodies the Nagaoka terroir.

It is a special sake that can be enjoyed because particularly because we are in the height of the sake-brewing process.

MASUDA TOKUBEE SHOTEN

Tsuki no Katsura is a junmai daigijino sake with an elegantly suppressed aftertaste that pairs well with any dish, never overpowering it.

Yoshinogawa

It is freshly pressed junmai daiginjo sake made by Yoshinogawa, which carries out every step of the process, from the rice harvest to the sake-brewing. Enjoy the refreshing taste of "shiboritate," or newly pressed, sake.

Yoshinogawa was established in Settaya, Nagaoka City, in Niigata Prefecture, in 1548. We brew sake with both sincerity and care, using only Niigata Prefecture raw materials. Using the soft water "Tenka Kanrosen" drawn from the brewery's well as brewing water, we use the traditional techniques of brewers cultivated over many years.
