- A front-runner in brewing ginjo sake
- Embracing our basic philosophy of painstakingly brewing and selling authentic sake, URAKASUMI aims to produce sake of the highest quality as the inventor of the Kyokai No. 12 yeast while remaining committed to brewing sake that embodies the unique qualities of our local area's vibrant climate.
History and culture of the brewery

- Classic & Elegant
- URAKASUMI was founded in 1724 in Shiogama, Miyagi, a port town blessed with beautiful nature and abundant seafood. We have inherited the Nanbu toji style of brewing sake in pursuit of sake of the finest quality while remaining committed to using local rice cultivars such as Sasanishiki to produce sake that is a reflection of our local food culture. We brew sake with a delicate flavor profile and a well-balanced aroma and taste so that our customers can enjoy it indefinitely.
