The brewery has launched many bold initiatives that have never been attempted before in the sake industry, including creating portable sake that can be brought outdoors, devising new ways of enjoying Japanese sake in the form of cocktails, and producing customized sake that is made to order.

Regional characteristics

Tsunan-machi is located in the southernmost part of Niigata Prefecture along the border with Nagano Prefecture, where the Chikuma River becomes the Shinano River.
In addition to a long winter and having one of the heaviest snowfalls in Japan, Tsunan's summers are marked by cool northwest winds and a pleasant highland-like climate.
This combination makes Tsunan's climate perfect for sake production, and Tsunan Sake Brewery is devoted to taking full advantage of Tsunan's environmental conditions for its sake.

Known for its heavy snowfall, Tsunan is home to snow-capped mountains over 2,000m in altitude, such as Kirinoto. The refreshing, pristine water sourced from this mountain snow has been recognized as one of "Japan's 100 finest waters."
This natural spring water used for brewing sake is ultra-soft in quality and is said to be exquisitely fine and well-balanced.
They have a distinctive smooth taste which also has a sense of depth, with a crisp and refreshing finish. As a result, they have been praised as a food pairing with all kinds of cuisine.
