We have carefully selected a sake, from the legendary Masuda Tokubee Shoten Brewery from Kyoto, that enhances its taste when paired with konpeitō for you to easily enjoy...

TASHINAMU - TraditionTASHINAMU - Tradition

the Japanese tradition

TASHINAMU

“In Japan TASHINAMU means spending time on what you like to find yourself in that space and enjoy it with your senses.”

How to TASHINAMU

Start by taking your time to taste the sake alone. Given its tartness and sweetness, you may be surprised at how different it is from other sake that you have tried before.
Next, add the konpeitō one by one to the glass and stir slowly to dissolve it. The color of the konpeitō will blend into the sake and turn it into a beautiful translucent color.

The sweetness of the konpeitō will also gradually combine with the sake and make it sweeter, allowing you to adjust the sweetness level based on your preference before enjoying the sake.
This is a unique TASHINAMU experience that you will only get to enjoy here, and we hope you take your time to savor the sake!

Sake: Tsukino Katsura Junmai Ginjo

Artisans from a brewery in Fushimi, Kyoto, who are known for their famous sake Tsukinokatsura, a product with a history of over 300 years, have breathed new life into Japanese sake while preserving the traditional sake brewing methods.

Unlike the flavor that one might expect from the name Kasegigashira, this sake has a slightly sweet taste with a refreshing and delicate lightness.

The refreshing fruit-like tartness and the smooth, mellow taste of rice combine to produce the sake’s elegant flavor profile. Its pleasant and refreshing taste reminiscent of white wine makes it the perfect choice of sake alongside food.

This set of four pieces of delicious Kyoto konpeitō candy is a fun gift that is also delightful to receive. The konpeitō comes in little, adorable hand-printed stencil-dyed boxes that are perfect for conveying your well wishes.

The design of each box is individually printed using Kyoto’s traditional stencil-dyeing method, which makes the empty washi-paper boxes that are small and adorable perfect for storing accessories after enjoying the candy inside.

Do you know what konpeitō is? You may remember that konpeitō is the staple food of the traveling soot in Spirited Away. Crafted mainly from sugar, this handmade snack actually takes a long time to make individually (more than 2 weeks!). In fact, it takes 20 years of training for craftsmen to learn how to make it by hand.
